Terms of use

De Auditor Group Ltd · Last updated 2 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and De Auditor Group Ltd ("we", "us"), a private company limited by shares registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 9661608), for using Audit Am, Audit Am Guard, your DA ID account and our websites (together, the "Services"). By creating a DA ID or using the Services you accept these terms, our Privacy policy and Community guidelines.

Important: the Services are tools to help you raise an alarm and stay informed. They are not an emergency service and cannot guarantee that anyone will respond. In an emergency, always call 112 or the police, fire service or an ambulance directly. Please read the Safety notice.

1. Who can use the Services

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you. You must give a real Nigerian or other mobile number you control. You may have only one DA ID, and you must not use someone else's.

2. Your DA ID account

Your DA ID is one account for all De Auditor Group Ltd apps. You sign in with a code sent by SMS. Keep your phone and your Guard safety PIN secure: anyone holding your unlocked phone can use your account. Tell us at once at support@deauditorgroup.com.ng if you think your account has been misused. You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account).

3. What the Services do

We may change, add or remove features. We will tell you in advance of any change that takes away a paid feature you are using.

4. Emergencies and the limits of the Services

SOS, alerts and notifications depend on things outside our control: your phone, its battery and settings, the permissions you give, mobile networks, SMS delivery, internet access and the people who receive your alert. Automatic detection can miss real danger and can be triggered by sounds that are not dangerous. Responders, organisations and agencies who receive your SOS are independent of us; they are not our employees or agents, and we do not control whether or how they respond. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any failure or delay in an alert being sent, delivered or acted on.

5. Reports, alerts and other content you post

You are responsible for what you post. Only report what you saw, heard or know to be true. A false report can put lives in danger and may be a crime under Nigerian law, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act. You must never encourage or take part in "jungle justice" or any attack on a person.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, moderate, translate, summarise (including with AI) and share it within the Services and with the people and organisations described in our Privacy policy, for as long as it stays on the Services and for the retention periods in that policy. We may remove content or limit its reach at any time, for example if we believe it breaks these terms or the Community guidelines, is false or unsafe, or if the law requires it. Alerts are labelled "unconfirmed" until confirmed by others or verified by us; we do not guarantee that any alert is accurate.

Protecting people who report. Public alerts never show who posted them: not your name, nickname, phone number or account. Only our trained moderators can see who posted an alert, to keep the Services safe. Photos and videos you attach stay private until a moderator has checked them; when we publish one we first remove its hidden data (such as the GPS position, phone model and time) and we do not publish images that identify a suspect, a victim or a child except as allowed below. Every report also passes an automatic safety check; a report that contains phone or account numbers, links, plate numbers, calls for violence or ethnic or religious labels waits for a person to review it before anyone sees it.

6. Scam check and the game

The scam-number check shows how many times other users have reported a number and our team approved the report. A number with no reports may still be used by scammers; a reported number may have been reported by mistake. Game cases use fictional people, banks and companies; any resemblance is unintended. Leaderboard points have no cash value.

7. DA Premium subscriptions

8. Organisations

If you join an estate, company, school or agency with a code, that organisation's security staff and control room will receive your SOS with your location and the unit or staff ID you entered, and your trips if you choose to share them. You can leave at any time in Guard. Organisations use the Services under our Organisation terms and are responsible for how they respond.

9. Sponsored content, ads and partner offers

Some game chapters and safety tips are sponsored, and the free version of Audit Am shows ads from Google AdMob (see section 7). Guard may show offers from partners, for which we may earn a commission. All of these are labelled. Any purchase from a partner is between you and the partner under its terms; we are not responsible for partner products.

10. What you must not do

You must not: send false SOS or reports; harass, threaten, expose or defame anyone; share someone's private information; post child sexual abuse material or anything sexualising a minor; incite violence, hatred or discrimination; run scams, sell items or advertise in chat; impersonate anyone, including the police or our staff; use the Services for political campaigning; try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get unauthorised access to the Services or other accounts; create fake accounts or automate use of the Services; or use the Services against the law.

In particular, you must not: use the safety trail, "Find my person", missing-person cases or Meet Safe to track, follow or control anyone without their free consent (pressuring a partner or relative to add you as a trusted person is stalking and is banned); open a missing-person case for someone who isn't missing; register a phone or vehicle that isn't yours or falsely mark one stolen; report a number, account or handle you know is innocent (see Reports & disputes); use the street alarm, POS robbery alarm or caller warnings to harass anyone; or record people in private places where recording is unlawful. Encounter recordings are for your own evidence; you are responsible for how you share them.

You must also not use alerts, "Near me", the Incident Room, incident updates or anything else in the Services to: find, follow, watch, intimidate or harm any person — including the person who posted an alert, a victim, a witness, a missing person or a responder; try to find out who posted an alert; avoid, obstruct or mislead the police or responders; plan or carry out a crime, including posting a false alert to draw people away from a place or towards danger; or collect alerts, locations or incident updates in bulk (for example by scripts or scraping) or republish them as a feed. We treat these as serious breaches: we may close your account at once and, where the law allows, report the matter to the police.

10A. When we share who posted something

We do not sell or publish information about who posted an alert or a report. We share it outside our moderation team only: (a) when a Nigerian court, the police or another authority makes a lawful written request that we have checked is genuine and within its powers, and then only the minimum the request requires; (b) when we believe in good faith that someone faces an immediate risk of death or serious harm and sharing is needed to prevent it; or (c) to report child sexual abuse material as the law requires. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell the person concerned. We keep a record of every such request and our answer.

Incident updates (such as "Responders told", "Help on the way" or "Resolved") are set by our team from information we receive from responders and users. They can be late, incomplete or wrong, and they do not mean that anyone has been arrested or found guilty, or that help will arrive in time. Never wait for an update to call 112 or to move to safety.

11. Suspension and termination

We may warn you, limit features, suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the Community guidelines, if we must by law, or to protect people. Where it is safe and lawful we will tell you why and you can ask us to review the decision by emailing us. You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time.

12. Intellectual property

The Services, the "De Auditor", "Audit Am", "Audit Am Guard" and "DA ID" names and logos, the game content and the software belong to De Auditor Group Ltd or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps for their intended purpose. You must not copy, sell or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

13. Third-party services

The Services rely on third parties such as Google (Firebase, Play, AdMob, Maps), RevenueCat, Paystack, our SMS provider and our AI provider. Their own terms apply to your use of their services, and we are not responsible for their failures.

14. Disclaimer

We work hard to keep the Services useful and available, but we provide them "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any alert, AI answer, scam check or content is accurate or complete. Nothing in the Services is legal, medical or financial advice.

15. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss caused by the acts or omissions of responders, organisations, agencies, other users or third-party services; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and ₦50,000.

16. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and costs arising from content you post or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For important changes we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before they apply, unless a change is needed sooner for safety or legal reasons. If you keep using the Services after a change applies, you accept the new terms.

18. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please contact us first; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If we cannot, either of us may refer the dispute to mediation, and if that fails, to the courts of Nigeria. This does not affect your rights as a consumer, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
