Reports & disputes

De Auditor Group Ltd · Last updated 2 November 2026

Audit Am lets people warn each other about phone numbers, bank accounts and social media handles used for fraud or crime. Because a warning can affect someone's life and business, we follow strict rules so it is fair to everyone, including the person reported.

1. How a report becomes a warning

  1. A report is private when it is sent. It names the exact number, account or handle, says what happened, and may include evidence such as screenshots. Evidence is never public.
  2. Our team reviews every report. We approve only what the facts and evidence support. We reject reports that are personal disputes, insults, guesses or revenge.
  3. One person counts once, however many times they report.
  4. With 1 approved report, a check shows "Caution: 1 report, not yet confirmed by others". With 2 or more approved reports from different people, it shows "Warning".
  5. A check shows only the number of reports, the type of problem and the month of the latest report. It never shows who reported, their story or their evidence.
  6. Approved reports stop counting after 24 months.

2. No browsing, no lists

You can only check an exact number, account or handle that you already have. There is no search by name, no list of reported people, and checks are limited per day to stop anyone from collecting data. Numbers on the Android caller-warning service are matched on the phone without telling us who is calling.

3. If you've been reported: how to dispute

4. False reports

Reporting something you know is false is against our terms and may be a crime under Nigerian law (including defamation and cybercrime laws). A report our team finds to be false is a strike; after two strikes the account can no longer send reports. We may share information with the police when the law requires it.

5. What users must not do

6. POS incident feed

Approved reports from POS agents may appear in the agents' warning feed as a short description of the trick (for example, a fake SMS credit alert), the area and the month. Our team writes or checks that description so it contains no names, numbers, handles or addresses.

7. Stolen phones and vehicles

"Reported stolen" means the registered owner reported it. "Verified" means our team checked their proof (receipt, box with the IMEI, vehicle papers or police extract). Ownership disputes are decided by our team on the evidence. A stolen item can't be transferred or removed until it's marked recovered.
